Celler de Capçanes is a cooperative winery founded in 1933 in the village of Capçanes, in what is now the Montsant DO of Catalonia. Originally established by local growers to collectively produce and market their wines, the cellar underwent a major transformation in the 1990s, shifting toward higher-quality, site-focused production. This period marked a turning point that brought international recognition, particularly as the cooperative embraced more ambitious winemaking and expanded its identity beyond bulk production, while still maintaining its cooperative structure rooted in the local community.
