Bodegas y Viñedos Monteabellón '5 Meses en Barrica' 2021
For several generations the García family has been fully dedicated to viticulture. Taking advantage of the experience accumulated over decades and their wine making know-how, the family winery, Bodegas Monteabellón, located in the small town of Nava de Roa was founded in 2000.
Monte Abellón is a hill in the village of Nava de Roa, where maritime pines, parasol pines, holm oaks and gall oaks grow. Since the beginning of the 20th century part of the hill has been dedicated to agricultural cultivation and especially to the vineyard.
Currently Bodegas y Viñedos Monteabellón has 175 hectares of its own vineyards spread over different plots. The different altitudes and diversity of the soils in the vineyards are reflected in the quality of the wines.
Other notes
Monteabellón 5 Meses en Barrica has its origin from the freshest vineyards located near the Duero River. The soil is sandy-loam, with a slight gravel content. This gives it a very characteristic freshness which, combined with its time spent in the barrel (5 months), gives rise to a wine with great personality and marked fruity nuances.

Aromas of blackberry, vanilla and baking spice pave the way for cherry, pomegranate, butterscotch, aniseed and violet flavors. Mellow tannins and well-integrated acidity endure on the palate. - Wine Enthusiast, 92 pts
