Devium French Creek Vineyard Red Blend 2022
Keith Johnson joined Sleight of Hand Cellars in 2011, fresh after completing the oenology and viticulture program at Walla Walla Community College, and after a couple of years of work under Rich Funk at Saviah Cellars. After three years at the winery, Keith was encouraged to start his own small project (while remaining a partner and winemaker at Sleight of Hands). Devium was established by Keith in 2015 in Walla Walla, WA. Keith has taken an unconventional approach when it comes to Washington winemaking, working with higher elevation, north-facing vineyards and whole clusters in neutral oak to achieve fresh, low alcohol wines that are true to their terroir and an honest representation of the fruit. Keith emphasizes the importance of the vineyard and the unique characteristics of each site. He is committed to minimalist winemaking. Foot crushed, native yeast, minimal sulfur, neutral barrels, unfined & unfiltered wines.
