JB Neufeld Yakima Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2024
Justin Neufeld received his degree in Microbiology from the University of Washington, where he met his wife, Brooke. After graduation they returned to Justin’s hometown in the Yakima Valley to spend their days making wine. Together they launched their own wine brand, JB Neufeld, in 2008. Justin had been making wine for over 15 years for other wineries, loving it, and JB Neufeld was a passion project on the side. Eventually Justin decided to make JB Neufeld not just a passion project but his only project, and he is happily no longer making wine for anyone but himself.
All of JB Neufeld wines are from the Yakima Valley AVA in Washington State. Their goal is to create wines with a sense of place.
Tasting notes
On the nose is a pretty bouquet of lime, lemon and floral character. Behind it are subtle tropical fruit notes combined with a nice mineral/wet rock character. The palate is light, bright and crisp with a pleasant plumpness on the attack that doesn’t overwhelm the palate but provides some weight and texture.

This vintage Justin sourced fruit from Roza Hills located in the upper Yakima Valley and Sugar Loaf, which neighbors Elephant Mountain vineyard. Justin specifically chose these vineyards due to the clone of Sauvignon Blanc planted in both locations. This particular clone is known for producing fruit that leans towards the citrus spectrum, resulting in bright, zesty flavors that are perfect for sunny weather.
