Bodegas y Viñedos Monteabellón 'Avaniel' Tinto 2021
For several generations the García family has been fully dedicated to viticulture. Taking advantage of the experience accumulated over decades and their wine making know-how, the family winery, Bodegas Monteabellón, located in the small town of Nava de Roa was founded in 2000.
Monte Abellón is a hill in the village of Nava de Roa, where maritime pines, parasol pines, holm oaks and gall oaks grow. Since the beginning of the 20th century part of the hill has been dedicated to agricultural cultivation and especially to the vineyard.
Currently Bodegas y Viñedos Monteabellón has 175 hectares of its own vineyards spread over different plots. The different altitudes and diversity of the soils in the vineyards are reflected in the quality of the wines.
Avaniel is a young red wine, 100% Tempranillo, coming from one of their youngest vineyards in Ribera del Duero, "Los Miles". The vines in "Los Miles" average between 6 and 10 years old.
This 2021 vintage of Avaniel is an intense garnet red color, very bright. Very good aromatic intensity that transmits a sensation of fresh red fruit (cherry currant) as well as spice box, blueberry and blackberry. Medium-bodied, very pleasant on the palate with supple texture and balance.
