Château de Gaudou 'Puro' Rosé 2023
Puro comes from 40+ Year old vines grown atop steep, rocky limestone hilltops covered in clay and gravel. Tradition and respect for nature run deep at Château de Gaudou, which was established in 1733 and to this day is run by the same lineage of winemakers, the Durou family, in the Cahors appellation of the southwest of France. The Durou family name is recorded in Cahors parish registries going back to the 16th century! Today, Château de Gaudou is led by Fabrice Durou and family.
No chemicals are used in the vineyards, all grapes are hand-harvested, and fermentation occurs with native yeasts within stainless steel tanks and cement vats. Puro is bottled unfined, slightly filtered, and a drop of SO2 is added for stability.
