Gehricke Russian River Valley Zinfandel 2022
Tasting notes
With a deep purple hue, sweet aromas leap from the glass with strawberry jam, jelly doughnuts, and confectioners’ sugar underscored by notes of allspice. Fruit-forward and mouthwatering, the palate boasts juicy flavors of ripe blackberry and raspberry with a touch of white pepper. The finish is round and lasting.
Other notes
With abundant early season rain followed by excellent spring and summer weather, the beginning of the 2022 growing season was near ideal. An intense heat wave followed by cool rains in September quickened the pace of ripening but allowed the fruit to reach its fullest potential before being carefully pulled off the vine. The early harvest produced grapes with complex, concentrated, fruit-forward flavors and balanced acidity.
