The winery was founded on the initiative of the Jacono family (Giuseppe Jacono), which has always been dedicated to viticulture and wine production since Vittoria was the Sicilian center most active in the export of wine destined for the French market, at the end of the 19th century. Since then, this vocation has been preserved and handed down over time, with the desire to perfect and make its production known internationally.
Strengthened by this heritage, Valle dell'Acate has specialized in the cultivation of the finest and most luxuriant native vines that grow in these lands, thus managing to obtain great wines, including the luster of Sicilian wine production, the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG.
Over time, the spirit of the company has become the authentic expression of a way of making wine, where the ancient winemaking tradition and nature are deeply combined, giving rise to wines of extraordinary quality and character.
Today Valle Dell'Acate, led by the last generation of the Jacono family, is one of the most important realities in the wine scene of south-eastern Sicily, committed to continuing and enhancing the ancient winemaking tradition of the province of Ragusa, in the triangle of territory between Acate , Comiso and Vittoria.
Color: Very clear ruby red
Aroma: Fragrant, fresh and overpowering; hints of red fruits, blueberries, raspberries
and blackberries, violet flowers and sage
Flavor: Very vivacious and fresh, particularly aromatic because of red fruit and rosebuds, a dry pleasant and persistent closing
Best paired with: Appetizers including fresh and aged cheeses, salamis, Sicilian red tuna, fish soup, sushi and sashimi
