Weingut Prager Smaragd Wachstum Bodenstein Grüner Veltliner 2019
Prager’s stylistic signature is that of aromatic complexity coupled with power and tension. High-density planting and long hang times ensure ripe fruit flavors and concentration yet allowing leaves to shade the fruit lend vibrant aromatics of grasses, herbs, and wildflowers. Minerality is a constant feature of any Prager wine.
With minimum alcohol of 12.5%, Grüner Veltliner Smaragd is a robust and full-bodied dry white wine. Its intensity of flavor and ripeness of fruit make it ideal with high-integrity ingredients such as seared white fish or sautéed spring vegetables. Grüner Veltliner is a classic accompaniment to Wiener Schnitzel.

95 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
The 2019 Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Wachstum Bodenstein is clear, deep and refined on the slightly flinty as well as chalky nose. Round, rich and intense on the palate, this is another full-bodied, actually massive but vital, fresh and structured Veltliner with an intense, powerful and slightly brandy finish. Tasted at the domain in June 2021.
94 Points Wine Spectator:
Rich and expressive, offering elder flower, peach, lentil, celery root and grapefruit aromas and flavors. Balanced, with a spicy, tangy aftertaste. Drink now through 2024.
