Analemma Mosier Hills Albariño 2019
From the winery:
Tasting Notes
Our second vintage of Albariño from the Mosier Hills reveals a honied, saline quality accompanied by lime and green melon. Its mineral character reminds us of Rias Baixas. Medium bodied with a pale yellow hue, this wine is lifted and refreshing. We recommend serving well chilled.
Vineyard and Production Notes
The majority of this wine was gently whole cluster pressed, while approximately one third underwent partial skin contact for just under one day. It was then settled briefly before being moved to various sized oak vessels, where it experienced a long, cool fermentation and 15 months elevage. From our Home Block vineyard, this wine is grown between cherry orchard, oak forest, and grazing pasture on our Biodynamic® Estate. Hand harvested September 10 & 23. Total production 150 cases.
Winegrower Insight
Despite similar coastal qualities found between the West Coast of the United States and Northwest Spain, less than one percent of the world’s Albariño is planted here. Our first understandings of this wine from the Mosier Hills reveals a vibrant, energetic expression we are thrilled to continue to explore.
