Quinta da Romaneira 'R de Romaneira' Douro Vinho Branco 2025
Quinta da Romaneira is one of the Douro Valley’s largest and most historic estates, with documented vineyard history dating back to at least 1757 during the original Pombaline demarcation of the region. Located in the Cima Corgo along roughly three kilometers of the Douro River, the estate’s 412 hectares (86 planted to vines) spans steep schist terraces, varied elevations, and multiple exposures that create a wide range of microclimates across the property. Historically, Romaneira became associated with some of the Douro’s earliest prestigious single-estate Ports and has long been recognized as one of the valley’s significant vineyard sites.
In 2004, under Christian Seely and winemaker António Agrellos, Quinta da Romaneira underwent extensive restoration, vineyard redevelopment, and cellar modernization. Today, the estate farms traditional Douro varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz, but also a significant proportion of white grapes- Gouveio, Viosinho, Boal and Rabigato, exclusively from estate vineyards, plus a select few international varieties.
